POSITION SUMMARY:
The Plant Supply Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing plant-level supply planning, production scheduling, inventory, and material planning activities to fulfill customer demand within a specific plant. The role contributes to long-term supply chain strategies for the plant and serves as the plant-level leader for the SIOP process and the scheduling and supply planning teams. The Plant Supply Planning Manager partners with cross-functional stakeholders, including plant and corporate leadership, to balance supply and demand, identify supply risks, and develop mitigation plans. The role is accountable for establishing and achieving inventory targets at the plant level and supporting on-time and in-full service levels to meet demand. The Plant Supply Planning Manager develops and communicates mid- to long-term scenarios that balance supply, demand, capacity, inventory, and operational requirements and leads cross-functional efforts to resolve or mitigate supply risks.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate leadership by championing Lozier’s Mission, Vision and Core Values and teaching the Lozier Leadership Model.
- Build trust and confidence through honesty, integrity, authenticity, and consistent leadership.
- Effectively lead the development of the supply planning and production scheduling teams, promoting effective team communication and supporting and coaching employees in their career development.
- Develop supply planners to ensure supply planning is effectively managed across the full MRP horizon for the plant.
- Develop production planners and ensure proper use of planning and exception reports.
- Coach and guide supply and production planners on how to maximize capacity, including but not limited to level loading.
- Champion strategic opportunities across the plant to ensure continued service improvement for long-term performance, and effectively communicate strategies, risks, and opportunities to plant and corporate leadership.
- Develop proactive strategies to anticipate and mitigate issues and risks across supply, capacity, inventory, and production plans.
- Contribute to standardized weekly and monthly planning processes, including MPS and SIOP preparation, for the assigned plant.
- Monitor finished goods and sub-assembly inventory levels, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and capacity constraints utilization across the plant, and communicate strategies to mitigate inventory risk to plant and corporate leadership.
- Establish, monitor, and drive achievement of plant-level inventory turns targets.
- Understand material needs and ensure plans to fulfil them are aligned with plant-wide objectives.
- Provide support for resolving issues that arise during the execution of supply plans, such as unexpected changes in demand or delays in shipments.
- Lead weekly Tier 4 scheduling meetings at the plant level.
- Continuously seek out opportunities to improve planning processes, inventory turns, and reduce costs at plant level.
- Lead plant level Kaizen events and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completed assignments.
- Ability to work and interact well with others.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or another related field experienced preferred. Master degree is desired.
Experience: Minimum of 9 years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably in supply planning, production planning, or scheduling within a manufacturing environment, if degreed. Minimum of 13 years of experience in a supply chain role, preferably in supply planning, production planning, or scheduling within a manufacturing environment, if non-degreed. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience leading teams within a complex supply chain or manufacturing environment.
Required Skills:
- Strong tactical and strategic planning skills.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex planning issues, risks, and recommendations to plant and corporate leadership.
- Supply management and planning.
- Capacity planning and utilization management.
- Inventory management including inventory levels, turns, excess and obsolete inventory, and service requirements.
- Knowledge and experience using KPIs to measure operational and financial performance and drive corrective action.
- Lean manufacturing principles, including Gemba walks and Kaizen.
- Team leadership and development across a complex supply chain environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Supply Chain ERP experience; Oracle EBS 12.2.6 or greater
- Participation in Oracle EBS/ASCP design teams and leads site installation for new systems.
- Forecasting.
- Data Analytics.
- Certification in APICS CPIM or APICS CSCP / APICS Principles of Operations Planning.
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management or other professional designation preferred.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
- Ability to travel to plant or customer locations as needed.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing setting, upstairs, downstairs, and factory floor.
- Must demonstrate adaptability and responsiveness to off-schedule requests or emergencies in support of business-critical functions.
