MonCore is a Financial Operating System building modern financial infrastructure and digital banking experiences through licensed banking and issuer partnerships.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our founding team in Bucharest.

Responsibilities

* Design, maintain and improve MonCore’s backend services and platform infrastructure.

* Support integrations with banking, payment, card issuing and compliance providers.

* Monitor system performance, availability and operational health.

* Troubleshoot production and pre-production issues.

* Maintain databases, optimize performance and ensure data integrity.

* Contribute to platform security, resilience and scalability.

* Support deployment, CI/CD and infrastructure automation processes.

* Collaborate closely with product, operations and compliance teams.

* Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning.

Requirements

* Strong experience in backend software development.

* Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, embedded finance and system architecture.

* Experience with relational databases and performance optimization.

* Experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.

* Experience working with production systems and operational troubleshooting.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently in a startup environment.

* Fluency in English.

Must have

* Experience in fintech, banking, payments or financial services.

* Experience with PostgreSQL.

* Experience with containerized environments and orchestration platforms.

* Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tools.

* Experience integrating third-party APIs and financial service providers.

* Understanding of security best practices and financial system operations.
