Protecnium is an international firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a PLC Engineer to join our team for a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Norfolk, Virginia.

We are seeking a PLC to provide technical support for the installation, integration, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLC-based control systems and SCADA systems associated with the project’s tunnel and infrastructure systems.

Project: Heavy Civil Construction Project
Estimated duration of the position: 1 year - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee on other projects to give him/her continuity.
Responsibilities:
Support the installation, configuration, programming, testing, and commissioning of PLC and SCADA systems.
Troubleshoot PLC hardware, software, communication networks, field devices, sensors, actuators, and control panels.
Review and modify PLC programs, control logic, alarms, interlocks, and system sequences as required.
Support SCADA configuration, graphics, alarms, trends, communications, and system integration. - Assist with integration between PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, electrical systems, and other tunnel control systems.
Perform field testing, functional testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
Support FAT, SAT, start-up, and commissioning procedures.
Review drawings, control diagrams, I/O lists, network architecture, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, ITS, controls, commissioning, and construction teams.
Identify system issues and support the development and implementation of corrective actions.
Document testing results, system modifications, troubleshooting activities, and commissioning progress.
Support the preparation of system turnover and as-built documentation.
Ensure work complies with project requirements, applicable standards, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
Working hours: Monday to Friday- 9 work hours+ 1 hour lunch break. Flexibility required.

Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
5-8+ years of experience on tunnel, bridge, highway, transit, or design-build infrastructure projects.
Hands-on experience with industrial automation, PLC programming, SCADA configuration, communication networks, instrumentation, and system integration
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail oriented.
