About Suman

Suman Education International designs and delivers education and professional development programmes connecting the UK and China. Established in Manchester in 2004, we work with schools, universities, professional bodies and other partners to create practical learning experiences.

Our work includes continuing professional development (CPD) for education professionals and people in other fields; UK summer programmes for Chinese university students and school pupils; and visits and exchanges in China for UK education professionals and school pupils.

The role

We are looking for a Project Manager to take programmes from initial enquiry through planning, delivery and evaluation. You will work directly with clients and partners in the UK and China, coordinate the details that make each programme run smoothly, and support participants during delivery.

Fluent spoken Mandarin is essential because our partners in China communicate in Mandarin. You will also need excellent spoken and written English for work with UK partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop proposals, programmes, itineraries, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate schools, universities, professional bodies, speakers, venues and suppliers in the UK and China.
• Arrange visits, accommodation, transport, catering and participant information.
• Monitor costs, deadlines and deliverables, and maintain accurate project records.
• Support participants and partners during programmes, responding calmly to changes and practical issues.
• Gather feedback and help improve future programmes.
• Travel within the UK and internationally, and work flexibly during programme delivery when required.

What you will bring

• At least two years of relevant experience in project coordination, education programmes or a similar role.
• Strong planning, communication and administrative skills, with careful attention to detail.
• Confidence working with clients and partners while managing several deadlines.
• Fluent spoken Mandarin and excellent spoken and written English.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in education, project management, business or a related field.
