About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Portable Metrology Engineer to join our quality team in Gulf. You will perform high-accuracy dimensional inspections using portable measurement systems, process point cloud data in PolyWorks and PC-DMIS, and support manufacturing and quality teams with reliable, traceable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate portable measuring devices (Hexagon portable arms and laser trackers, ZEISS portable systems) for on-site and shop-floor inspection
  • Use PolyWorks Inspector to align, analyze, and report on scan and probe data
  • Use PC-DMIS to process and inspect point clouds, including scan data comparison against CAD models
  • Clean, filter, and align point clouds, and generate color maps and deviation reports
  • Perform dimensional inspections, first-article inspections (FAI), and reverse engineering as required
  • Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and GD&T requirements
  • Create inspection plans, measurement routines, and clear inspection reports
  • Conduct equipment setup, calibration checks, and routine maintenance of portable systems
  • Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances
  • Maintain measurement accuracy, traceability, and compliance with quality standards

Required Qualifications

  • 6-9 years of hands-on experience in metrology or dimensional inspection
  • Proficiency in PolyWorks and/or PC-DMIS, including working with point clouds
  • Experience with Hexagon or ZEISS portable devices (portable CMM arms, laser trackers, laser scanners)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, blueprint reading, and measurement uncertainty
  • Experience with CAD-to-part comparison and inspection report generation
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Willingness to relocate and work on-site, with travel to project locations as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in oil & gas, aerospace, automotive, heavy fabrication, or power industries
  • Certifications in PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, Hexagon, or ZEISS systems
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 10360 standards
  • Knowledge of 3D laser scanning and reverse engineering workflows
  • Good English communication skills; Arabic is a plus
