About the Role
Woodside is seeking an innovative technology leader to set the enterprise architecture vision and shape the technology foundations of a global energy business.
As Principal of Enterprise Architecture, you will lead the direction of Woodside’s IT and OT estate, influence major investment decisions and accelerate the transition from legacy complexity to a modern, resilient and future ready environment.
With enterprise-wide visibility and direct engagement with senior leaders, you will establish the standards, governance and decision rights that enable delivery at pace while protecting long-term technical integrity. You will lead and develop the enterprise architecture capability and shape Woodside’s response to AI and other emerging technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set Woodside’s enterprise technology direction, translating business and Digital strategy into clear target states, investment priorities and roadmaps across IT and OT.
- Advise senior executives on material technology choices, bringing commercial, risk and architectural judgement to decisions with enterprise-wide consequences.
- Lead the enterprise architecture function, building a high-performing capability and establishing the principles, standards, patterns, guardrails and decision rights that enable accountable delivery.
- Provide authoritative direction on significant cross-domain decisions, aligning business, product, platform, domain and delivery leaders around enterprise outcomes.
- Own the enterprise view of the technology estate and drive deliberate simplification, consolidation and modernisation, including the prioritisation of material technical debt and obsolescence risk.
- Shape Woodside’s architectural response to strategic and emerging technologies, including AI and agentic technology, cloud, cyber security, data and evolving enterprise platforms.
Skills and Experience
- Significant leadership experience in enterprise architecture, technology strategy or a comparable function within a large, complex or regulated organisation.
- Broad enterprise technology expertise across cloud, cyber security, platforms, data, integration and AI, with the judgement to lead across specialist domains and an understanding of IT and OT environments.
- A track record of establishing architecture strategy, governance, standards and decision rights that have materially improved business outcomes, resilience and technology sustainability.
- Strong commercial and systems thinking, with the ability to balance value, cost, delivery speed, risk, security and long-term technical integrity.
- Executive presence and the ability to influence, align and constructively challenge senior leaders while navigating competing enterprise priorities.
- Proven people leadership, with experience building capability, developing senior technical talent and leading through influence across a federated environment.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent significant professional experience; enterprise architecture, cloud or technology certifications are valued but not essential.
