POSITION SUMMARY As a member of our Quantitative Metabolism team within ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion) Sciences, you will help advance Pfizer’s small molecule portfolio from discovery through development. You will shape fit-for-purpose ADME strategies, identify and mitigate disposition risks, and translate enzymology and ADME data into evidence-based recommendations that guide discovery and development project decisions. This includes owning scientific questions from hypothesis generation through experimental strategy, data generation and interpretation, risk assessment, and communication of clear recommendations to teams. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the ADME scientific owner for assigned project questions, influencing strategy as an active partner on departmental discovery and development project teams and aligning recommendations with project needs and key stakeholder priorities. Own the design, execution, and interpretation of fit-for-purpose enzymology studies that address key questions in clearance, disposition, in vitro-to-in vivo translation, and DDI risk. Integrate in vitro ADME data to identify liabilities, define next-step experiments, and propose mitigation strategies to enable project progression. Provide scientific ownership for key ADME risk assessments, such as determining whether clearance mechanisms, enzyme involvement, induction or inhibition liabilities are sufficiently understood to support project decisions. Lead from the lab by designing and executing impactful experiments while maintaining high scientific rigor and data quality. Mentor scientists through experimental oversight, technical guidance, data review, and coaching that builds scientific independence. Identifies capability gaps, and creates new options through technology, external networks, partnerships, or novel approaches MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PhD in a related science discipline with 4 or more years of relevant industry experience in an ADME sciences related field, OR MS in a related science discipline with 9 or years of relevant industry experience in an ADME sciences related field, OR BS in a related science discipline with 12 or more years of relevant experience in an ADME sciences related field. Knowledge of enzymology/drug metabolism principles, such as enzyme kinetics, reaction phenotyping, drug-drug interactions, and pharmacokinetic predictions. Experience independently leading complex ADME workstreams, integrating study design, data interpretation, and scientific recommendations that support project decision making and advance our predictive sciences. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports, project recommendations, presentations, or external scientific communications.
