Show job description

We are working with an ambitious, rapidly growing aerospace business looking to appoint a Procurement Specialist to support its continued expansion.

This is an opportunity to join a technically driven organisation operating at the forefront of aerospace innovation, where procurement is integral to business performance. You’ll play a key role in managing suppliers, overseeing purchasing activities and developing processes to support a growing and increasingly complex operation.

We’re looking for a commercially minded, hands-on procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys taking ownership and can balance day-to-day purchasing requirements with longer-term process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end purchasing activities, from sourcing requirements and obtaining quotations through to purchase order management and delivery tracking.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, support commercial negotiations and monitor supplier performance.
  • Coordinate supplier agreements, contractual documentation, renewals and the resolution of commercial issues.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, finance and quality to ensure purchasing requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support robust documentation and compliance practices.
  • Help develop and implement standardised procurement processes as the business continues to scale.
  • Contribute to the implementation and optimisation of ERP systems, improving purchasing visibility, controls and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve supplier management, purchasing practices and overall commercial performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, defence or another technically complex industry.
  • Experience managing suppliers, sourcing materials or services and supporting commercial negotiations.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive, pragmatic approach to resolving supplier and operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and the confidence to help shape processes as the business grows.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience using ERP platforms such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or similar systems.
  • Exposure to ERP implementation, procurement transformation or the introduction of structured purchasing controls.
  • Experience working within a high-growth business or helping establish procurement processes from the ground up.

What’s on Offer?

  • A highly competitive salary package, complemented by performance-related bonuses and potential equity participation.
  • The opportunity to contribute directly to the growth and success of an ambitious aerospace business.
  • Relocation assistance, including support with travel, moving arrangements and visa requirements, where applicable.
  • Meals and refreshments provided throughout the working day.
  • Access to company-supported accommodation, subject to availability and applicable arrangements.
  • Significant autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the development of the procurement function.

The Opportunity

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a demanding, fast-moving environment where initiative, accountability and adaptability are valued.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence how procurement operates, strengthen supplier relationships and help establish scalable processes within a business experiencing significant growth.

The position operates within a 48-hour working week, and candidates should be comfortable with the pace, flexibility and level of ownership associated with a rapidly scaling organisation.

The business is committed to fostering an inclusive working environment where diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences are valued.
