Product Compliance Specialist

Why This Role

As Product Compliance Specialist you will own the compliance function working directly with our product, legal and supply chain teams. You will be involved in new product development from day one, interface with our manufacturing partners, and see your work directly enable product launches across Europe and international markets. In a lean, fast-moving organization, your decisions matter and your impact is visible.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory compliance & monitoring

• Verify product compliance for European and international markets across the applicable regulatory framework, including: TPD (2014/40/EU) and national transpositions, CLP (1272/2008), REACH, GPSR (2023/988), RED and EMC directives, RoHS, the EU Battery Regulation (2023/1542), WEEE and EPR schemes, and packaging requirements (including PPWR).
• Monitor the introduction and evolution of regulations and market-specific requirements (e.g. ANSES notifications in France, ADM requirements in Italy, flavor restrictions, single-use device bans), assessing their impact on the product portfolio.
• Track and ensure adherence to all regulatory deadlines.

Notifications & documentation

• Manage TPD notifications through the EU-CEG portal.
• Collect, archive and maintain up-to-date technical and regulatory documentation.
• Verify certificates, laboratory test reports, declarations of conformity and supplier documentation.

Product development & launch support

• Participate in the new product development process from the early stages, providing compliance input and gate checks ahead of launch.
• Support the review of packaging, labels, QR codes, user manuals and mandatory product information.
• Coordinate with external laboratories for emission testing and chemical analyses.

Supply chain & post-market

• Interface with manufacturing partners on upstream compliance: documentation audits, test report verification, and alignment on regulatory requirements.
• Monitor post-market safety obligations, including Safety Gate (RAPEX) surveillance and support for corrective actions or recall procedures where needed.
• Support the legal function on regulatory matters and compliance-related disputes.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in regulatory affairs or product compliance in a regulated industry: tobacco/nicotine, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food supplements, consumer electronics or chemicals.
• Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law or a related field.
• Solid understanding of EU product legislation and the ability to interpret and operationalize regulatory requirements.
• Professional written and spoken English (working language).
• Good confidence of Excel and document management systems.

Strongly preferred

• Direct hands-on experience with EU-CEG notifications.
• Knowledge of the TPD framework and the vaping/nicotine regulatory landscape.
