ABOUT FIREFLY AEROSPACE Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company on a mission to reliably and repeatedly launch, land, and operate space systems from Earth to the Moon and beyond. As the partner of choice for critical space missions, Firefly is the first commercial company to launch a satellite to orbit with 24-hour notice and the first company to achieve a successful Moon landing. Headquartered in north Austin, Texas, Firefly is looking for passionate, hardworking innovators to join our team and help fuel our successful trajectory into space. Position Summary Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Production Control Scheduler to own the integrated schedule and workflow for the ETL, Briggs test stands, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) lab, and other internal inspection and testing operations. This position connects manufacturing output, test and inspection capacity, and program requirements. The scheduler will develop executable work-center schedules based on program need dates, hardware readiness, labor, equipment availability, resource capacity, and required work sequence. The successful candidate must have solid scheduling fundamentals and experience applying them in a professional scheduling tool. This is a floor-focused role requiring regular presence at both Cedar Park and Briggs and direct coordination with Manufacturing, Test Operations, Engineering, Quality, Metrology, Supply Chain, Production Control, and Program Operations. Responsibilities Own and maintain capacity-constrained schedules for the ETL, Briggs test stands, CMM lab, and internal inspection and testing work centers. Translate program milestones and customer need dates into logically linked daily, weekly, and longer-range schedules. Establish activity sequences, dependencies, resource requirements, constraints, and critical paths. Manage part and test-article flow through testing, dimensional inspection, internal checks, data review, disposition, and release to the next operation. Evaluate work-center demand against available labor, equipment capability, test-stand availability, historical performance, and planned maintenance. Confirm hardware readiness before assigning test or inspection capacity, including: Manufacturing and assembly completion Approved test or inspection requirements Correct engineering configuration Tooling, fixtures, instrumentation, and support equipment Required personnel and facility resources Quality, metrology, engineering, and safety approvals Maintain visibility of ready work, blocked work, work in process, queue aging, forecast completion dates, and downstream schedule impacts. Work with production and test teams to establish daily priorities and ensure resources are assigned to the most critical work. Identify schedule conflicts, part shortages, capacity constraints, and risks before they affect program commitments. Develop forward- and backward-scheduled recovery options following test failures, nonconformances, equipment downtime, rework, or changing program priorities. Coordinate priorities when multiple programs compete for the same test, inspection, or technical resources. Maintain schedule baselines and perform critical-path, capacity, schedule-variance, and planned-versus-actual analysis. Maintain current execution status in Odoo and approved scheduling and visual-management systems. Provide concise updates on priorities, schedule risks, required decisions, and recovery actions during operating-tier and program reviews. Escalate issues that may affect manufacturing output or program IMS commitments. Use performance data to improve planning assumptions, schedule accuracy, work-center utilization, and overall hardware flow. Minimum Qualifications Three or more years of professional experience in production control, test scheduling, production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or a related field. Demonstrated understanding of scheduling fundamentals, including activity sequencing, logic and precedence, dependencies, constraints, critical-path analysis, schedule baselines, resource loading, and variance analysis. Professional experience developing and maintaining integrated schedules using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Deltek Open Plan, or comparable scheduling software. Experience with Odoo or another ERP, MRP, or MES system used to manage work orders, routings, priorities, dates, and execution status. Experience scheduling work within a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, or engineering test environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work centers, competing priorities, and cross-functional dependencies. Strong Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills. Ability to read and understand manufacturing documentation, routings, engineering drawings, inspection requirements, and test procedures. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive decisions across functional organizations. Ability to work on-site and travel regularly between Cedar Park and Briggs. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in operations management, supply chain, industrial engineering, business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered. Three to five years of production-control or scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing or test environment. Experience scheduling propulsion, component, qualification, acceptance, or development testing. Experience managing dimensional-inspection or CMM work-center flow. Experience with engineering changes, configuration control, nonconformances, rework, and retesting. Familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or other data-visualization and analysis tools. Lean manufacturing or continuous-improvement experience. Work Requirements This is an on-site position requiring regular presence at both Cedar Park and Briggs. The position will spend significant time in manufacturing, metrology, and active test environments. Occasional early-morning, evening, weekend, or on-call support may be required based on test activity and program needs. The employee must be able to travel between Firefly locations as business needs require. Firefly offers outstanding benefits for our employees, including generous health, dental and vision plans with low plan deductibles, parental leave, educational & relocation reimbursement, short term disability, and flexible PTO options. To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Firefly Aerospace, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with Firefly is governed based on merit, competence and qualifications and will not be influenced in any manner by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability or any other legally protected status.
