A Day in the Life
The Production Group Lead IV role supports manufacturing operations within Medtronic’s production environment, helping ensure products are assembled, tested, and processed in accordance with established quality, safety, and delivery requirements. This position serves as a key resource on the production floor, coordinating daily activities, supporting operational execution, and providing guidance to production team members.This position is located in Boulder, Colorado and is an onsite role. Team members are expected to work on-site to support manufacturing operations and cross-functional collaboration. This position supports second and third shift manufacturing operations and is scheduled for an 8-hour swing shift with a start time between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. No travel is required for this position.
The Production Group Lead IV provides day-to-day leadership and technical support for manufacturing operations. This role coordinates production activities, supports equipment and process execution, assists with troubleshooting, and helps ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality and safety standards. The position serves as a resource for operators and assemblers, providing coaching, training, and operational guidance to support efficient production performance across second and third shift operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead daily production activities and coordinate workflow to support manufacturing schedules and operational objectives.
Prioritize and allocate operator resources based on production demand, staffing levels, and build schedules.
Support manufacturing processes including equipment testing, product assembly, disassembly, reassembly, and related production activities.
Monitor production processes and communicate operational issues, risks, and status updates to manufacturing leadership.
Coach, train, and provide technical guidance to operators and assemblers on production procedures, equipment usage, and problem-solving techniques.
Perform equipment setup, changeovers, breakdown activities, and technical reviews to support production requirements.
Identify process improvement opportunities and collaborate with supervisors to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to Medtronic quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable manufacturing procedures.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of manufacturing, production, operations, supply chain, or related experience.
Experience leading, training, coordinating, or directing the work of production or manufacturing team members.
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing operations, production processes, equipment, systems, and tools.
Experience prioritizing work, coordinating resources, and supporting production schedules in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to support an 8-hour swing shift schedule with a start time between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to provide coverage across second and third shift operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as a team lead, production lead, or informal leader within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with equipment setup, changeover, testing, and production support activities.
Knowledge of quality systems, manufacturing compliance requirements, and workplace safety standards.
Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment such as medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly controlled industries.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
