About This Role
As a Project Director at GE Vernova, you take full ownership of complex, large-scale power projects — from mobilization through to final delivery — ensuring every commitment made to the customer is met with precision, accountability, and integrity. You will lead cross-functional teams, navigate high-stakes commercial negotiations, and build the kind of operational discipline that turns ambitious targets into consistent outcomes.

The Project Director is accountable for the overall execution and performance of allocated projects, balancing customer commitments with business objectives across cost, schedule, quality, EHS and cash. The role provides leadership to cross-functional teams and drives effective stakeholder, commercial, risk and claims management. The Project Leader is also expected to foster a culture of operational discipline, transparency and continuous improvement, leveraging DMS, Standard Work, Lean and structured problem-solving to deliver sustainable project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• • Lead and manage allocated projects end-to-end to achieve project goals and objectives, with accountability for cost, schedule, quality, EHS, cash and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, develop and align the cross-functional project team to deliver project commitments and continuously improve cost, schedule, quality and EHS performance.
  • Establish robust risk and opportunity management processes, ensuring timely identification, mitigation and realization of opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute effective commercial and claims strategies with clients, partners, subcontractors and other stakeholders to protect project and business interests.
  • Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with clients, partners and subcontractors, ensuring sustainable outcomes and timely resolution of issues.
  • Prepare and lead Project Reviews and other governance forums, providing clear visibility of project performance, key risks, opportunities, actions and recovery plans.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, partners and key subcontractors to ensure effective project execution, customer satisfaction and timely resolution of disputes.
  • Establish, implement and maintain project operating standards and governance mechanisms to ensure consistent execution, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive systematic capture and deployment of lessons learned, return of experience (ROE) and best practices across projects and the broader organization.
  • Provide meaningful input to project team performance reviews and talent development, in partnership with functional leaders.
  • Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement through structured problem-solving, leveraging PSR, Lean methodologies and REDs to address performance gaps and improve Bowler Chart outcomes.
  • Ensure transparency and operational control through disciplined execution of Daily Management Systems (DMS), with Standard Work (SW) as the foundation for consistent project execution and performance management.

What We're Looking For

You are a seasoned project leader who has delivered large-scale power projects in high-complexity environments. You bring commercial sharpness, organizational clarity, and the people skills to hold a diverse team together under pressure.

Required

• • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the Power industry including experience in engineering, procurement, construction or project management of large projects
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen — experience assessing business risks and opportunities and leading commercial negotiations.
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and lead cross-functional teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Broad technical and commercial knowledge covering multiple disciplines
  • Track record of building effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Hands on experience of TI Site E&C, PG test completion etc would be an advantage.

Preferred

• • Hands-on experience with Boiler, Turbine or FGD project execution, and performance guarantee (PG) test completion activities
  • Familiarity with Lean operating systems, Daily Management Systems, Bowler Chart performance tracking, and structured problem-solving frameworks (PSR, REDs)
  • Experience managing subcontractor and client relationships across international or multi-site project environments
