Job Title: Project Engineer – EC&I
Location: Guernsey & Jersey, Channel Islands
Salary: £60,000–£75,000 depending on experience
Relocation: £2,500 one-off relocation support
Rental Support: £600 per month

The role:
We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a strong Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) background to join an established energy business operating across the Channel Islands.
This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll take projects from initial concept and design through to commissioning, handover and close-out, while working closely with Operations, Asset Management, Commercial teams and external contractors.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects that directly support the reliability, safety, development and improvement of critical energy infrastructure across Guernsey and Jersey.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead and support engineering projects from concept through to commissioning
- Provide technical expertise across Electrical, Control & Instrumentation
- Develop engineering solutions, specifications and project documentation
- Support CAPEX, capital maintenance and growth projects
- Manage contractors, technical resources, project risks, budgets and schedules
- Support HAZOP, LOPA, commissioning and validation activities
- Work with PLC, SCADA and DCS systems
- Produce and review P&IDs, PFDs, schematics and AutoCAD drawings
- Support asset integrity, CMMS and engineering standards
- Provide technical guidance to operational and maintenance teams
What We’re Looking For
- Degree/HNC/HND in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems or a related discipline
- 5+ years’ engineering experience, ideally within gas, utilities, chemical, petrochemical, process or a similar environment
- Strong EC&I engineering and project experience
- Experience with PLC, SCADA/DCS and industrial control systems
- Understanding of project risk, contractors, commissioning and technical delivery
- Ability to read and work with P&IDs, PFDs and electrical/control schematics
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or CMMS systems
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
