Custom Architectural Millwork

Our client is an established custom architectural millwork manufacturer delivering complex commercial interiors across North America. Their work includes hospitality, luxury commercial, retail, institutional and high-end public spaces where custom fabrication, precision manufacturing and exceptional project execution are essential.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who understands how custom millwork projects move from award through fabrication, installation and final turnover.

This is a senior client-facing role responsible for leading multiple high-value projects while coordinating engineering, production, procurement, site teams and installation partners.

What You'll Do

• Lead custom architectural millwork projects from contract award through project closeout.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, general contractors and internal teams.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings and contract documents.
• Coordinate engineering, purchasing, fabrication, logistics and installation activities.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting, invoicing and change orders.
• Identify project risks early and develop practical solutions before they impact schedule or cost.
• Coordinate production requirements with field installation activities.
• Support installation teams through site visits, field coordination and issue resolution.
• Lead project meetings and communicate project status with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Oversee deficiencies, commissioning support and final project closeout.

Approximately 15–20% of this position involves travel to project sites for field coordination and installation support.

What We're Looking For

You understand both project management and architectural millwork manufacturing.

You know what it takes to deliver complex custom interiors, communicate effectively with contractors and architects, and solve problems before they become production or installation issues.

Ideal candidates will have:

• 10+ years of experience within architectural millwork or custom interior construction.
• At least five years managing custom millwork projects.
• Experience delivering projects from design through fabrication, installation and closeout.
• Experience working on major commercial construction projects, including projects exceeding $10 million in construction value.
• Strong understanding of custom cabinetry, casework, store fixtures, architectural woodwork and interior finishes.
• Experience coordinating fabrication, logistics, installation and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of schedules, budgets, forecasting, change management and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Technical Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is considered an asset:

• AutoCAD
• Bluebeam
• Procore
• Microsoft Project
• ERP or project management software used within manufacturing or construction

Knowledge of AWI, AWMAC or comparable architectural woodwork standards is highly desirable.
