  • The successful candidate will reside in or relocate to Philadelphia, Chicago/Northern Illinois, Wisconsin or New York City.

Role Description This full-time remote Property Claims Specialist role is responsible for handling and resolving property insurance claims from initial report through settlement. In this position, you will investigate claims, review policy coverage, evaluate damages, and determine appropriate claim resolutions while adhering to company guidelines and regulatory requirements. You will communicate with policyholders, agents, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather information, explain coverage, and ensure timely and accurate claim processing. The role includes documenting claim activities, maintaining detailed records, and using claims management systems and analytical tools to support decision-making. You will collaborate with colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality service and contribute to process improvements that enhance the overall claims experience.


Qualifications

  • Strong claims management and claims handling skills, with experience managing property insurance claims from intake through closure.
  • Solid analytical skills to assess damages, interpret policy language, evaluate coverage, and make sound, data-informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of insurance principles and property/casualty products, including familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication skills to interact professionally with policyholders, agents, contractors, and internal teams, both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency with claims management software and standard office applications, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills to resolve claims fairly and efficiently.
  • Relevant experience in property claims, adjusting, or insurance operations; professional designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC) are a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
