Req Id : 115555 Opportunity Type : Staff Relocation eligible : [[custReloAvailable]] Full time/Part time : Full-Time Contract Hire Only for this Project : Visa Sponsorship Available: [[custVisaSponsorship]] Job Summary The PTW (Permit to Work) Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and administering the Permit to Work the PTW and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) systems to ensure all construction and commissioning activities are performed safely and in compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The role coordinates permit issuance, work authorization, energy isolation activities, and SIMOPS management while ensuring that hazards are properly identified, risks are assessed, and effective control measures are in place before work begins. The PTW Coordinator works closely with Operations, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance, and Contractor teams to review and approve work permits, verify isolation requirements, and ensure safe execution of high-risk activities such as hot work, confined space entry, electrical work, lifting operations, and line breaking. The position also oversees LOTO planning and execution, including verification of isolations, lock and tag application, maintenance of isolation registers, conducting field audits, and ensuring safe restoration of equipment following work completion. Additionally, the PTW Coordinator provides PTW and LOTO training, conducts compliance audits, investigates permit-related incidents, and promotes a strong safety culture across the project or facility. #LI-CY1 (This is a 12-month agency contract position with potential for extension, subject to project needs.) Key Responsibilities Manage and administer the Permit to Work (PTW) system to ensure all work activities are properly authorized, controlled, and executed safely. Review, verify, approve, suspend, and close work permits in accordance with company procedures and site requirements. Coordinate high-risk work activities including hot work, confined space entry, electrical work, lifting operations, excavation, line breaking, and working at height. Ensure Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements are reviewed and aligned with permit requirements. Lead daily permit coordination meetings and manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) to prevent conflicts and unsafe conditions. Develop, implement, and maintain Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and energy isolation standards. Ensure proper review and approval of isolation plans for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process systems. Verify that all required isolations, locks, tags, and protective devices are correctly applied before work commences. Ensure LOTO activities are coordinated between Construction and Commissioning teams. Confirm correct isolation registers, permit records, and LOTO documentation are maintined to ensure full traceability and compliance. Conduct field inspections, PTW audits, and LOTO verification checks to ensure compliance with approved procedures. Ensure safe de-isolation and restoration of equipment following completion of maintenance, construction, or commissioning activities. Investigate PTW and LOTO non-conformances, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions. Deliver PTW and LOTO training, mentoring, and competency assessments for employees and contractors. Monitor compliance with HSE policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Prepare and submit permit status reports, audit findings, compliance metrics, and performance indicators to management. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring effective communication, hazard awareness, and adherence to safe systems of work. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline or Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas and/or LNG industry. 5+ years of experience in Safety and Health management, preferably within the Oil & Gas, LNG, or other major industrial project environments. Proven experience supporting large-scale LNG projects through the construction, commissioning, and startup phases. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications Safety and health certification, Bachelor's Degree preferred LNG liquefaction facilities. LNG receiving terminals and regasification facilities. Offshore LNG (FLNG) projects. Brownfield and greenfield commissioning projects. International EPC and EPCM project environments. Certifications First Aid, CPR, Drug testing certified, OSHA 500/501, Safety and Health Program Administration, OSHA 10 hour Work Environment/Physical Demands Physical Demands: • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. • Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas. • See and hear naturally or with correction. • Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. • Requires repetitive movement. • May require work above 5 feet in height. • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Work Environment: • Typical construction site environment: • Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. • Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. • Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. • Work around hazardous equipment. • Typical office environment. • This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
