Job Title: Quality Technician - Document Controller
Location: Barrow in Furness - full time onsite

Grade: S2
You’re expected to have completed 12 months in role prior to applying for an advertised vacancy and you should also discuss the internal opportunity with your line manager to ensure sustained business continuity and to further support your career development.

Job Description:
This is a key role supporting the organisation to operate consistently, meet assurance expectations, and drive quality-focused performance. You’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the business, gaining valuable insight into how the organisation operates while building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the company. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
Core duties:
- Supporting the governance of the Business Management System (BMS)
- Ensuring core processes, documents and records are controlled, compliant and continuously improved
- Monitoring compliance to standards and regulatory requirements
- Providing oversight of process ownership and maintaining the integrity of document control
- Supporting local Audits and investigations (including Human Factors)
- Maintaining the BMS maintenance records
Essential Skills:
- Knowledge of Business Management Systems, Operational Framework and Operational Assurance processes
- Experience of document control or audits
- Knowledge of Quality Standards e.g. ISO9001/EN9001
- Confident with Windows and Sharepoint applications
The Business Management System (BMS) Team:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Management System (BMS) Team, providing administration and support for the BMS across all submarine programmes. Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, helping to ensure the effective management and continuous improvement of business processes. The role offers excellent exposure across the business, with opportunities for professional development and skills growth within a supportive team environment.
