THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE Retail Methodology is looking for a Quantitative Analytics Manager based out of Milton Keynes . This role is on a fixed term contract for 12 months. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Model Development Quantitative Manager to be part of the Retail Methodology Team within Treasury Risk & Analytics. The opportunity is to be a manager within the UPL team, working on IRB capital models, scorecards, IFRS9 provision models, and stress testing models. The IRB models you would be building are of interest to external regulators, and provision models are also reviewed by external auditors. You will participate in meetings, leading explanations of our models and defending any findings raised. We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Providing project plans for the model developments you will be completing throughout the year to ensure the most effective use of resource. Managing a technical analyst to deliver against targeted plans whilst working independently to develop or change models to agreed deadlines. Providing model development documentation describing model development to a level of detail that allows a third party to replicate the development. Providing assessment of model performance and evidence of compliance with the relevant regulation. Supporting model approval forums by presenting model changes, keeping communication focussed and engaging for the audience. Support the building of collaborative relationships across the business with key stakeholders to ensure the models are fit for purpose WHAT YOU’LL BRING Our people are our greatest strength. Professional Experience: Experience managing a technical analyst – capable of building and maintaining a high performing working relationship to ensuring goals are met (Preferred) Experience of developing Advanced IRB models for Retail banking products (Preferred) Solid knowledge of external regulation relating to model development (Preferred) Education: Degree level education in a quantitative field; a postgraduate qualification/PhD would be advantageous (Preferred) Hard Skills: Proven ability of conducting statistical analysis in a coding environment such as SAS, SQL, R or Python (Required) Experience of interpreting technical documentation and producing written reports which convey technical information in an accessible manner, targeted to specific audiences (Preferred) Appreciation/knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as Basel or IFRS9 (Required) Soft Skills: Track record of successful delivery in a statistical analysis or modelling role, preferably in a Retail environment (Required) Excellent interpersonal skills to persuade and influences others including key stakeholders across the business (Preferred) WE VALUE YOUR IMPACT At Santander, your contribution matters.
