Job Overview
Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking an experienced, dynamic and improvement-focused Radiology Quality and Governance Manager to lead quality, safety and governance across our Radiology service.
This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity to shape a robust quality management system, strengthen assurance and support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred imaging services across Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.
Working closely with the Head of Radiology, Clinical Director, senior managers and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide expert advice on quality, governance, compliance and patient safety, translating national guidance and regulatory requirements into meaningful improvements for patients, staff and services.
The role offers real scope to influence Radiology-wide standards, lead accreditation and assurance activity, and develop practical systems that support learning, improvement and high-quality care.
We are looking for a confident and collaborative leader with strong governance experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across services, corporate teams and external partners.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and coordinate Radiology quality and governance activity, including audit, risk management, incident investigation, complaints, redress, patient feedback, safety alerts and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
You will lead the development and monitoring of the Radiology Quality Management Strategy and quality and safety framework, supporting accreditation against the Quality Standards in Imaging and ensuring evidence-based assurance is available for internal and external scrutiny.
The role will include analysing complex information from multiple sources, identifying trends, preparing clear reports and action plans, and working with clinical and operational colleagues to ensure learning is embedded and improvements are delivered.
You will also manage and support key staff within the governance, research and systems portfolio, contribute to workforce and service planning, oversee delegated resources, and represent Radiology at Health Board and All-Wales quality, safety and governance forums.
