Show job description

You design reactor components. You want to see them built and tested, and you want a whole component on your desk, not one calculation in a large programme.

We recruit reactor designers for several European developers, from water-cooled small modular reactors to Gen IV designs. Some are shaping new concepts, some are prototyping and testing components with specialist labs, some are preparing to build. All have small design teams where each engineer owns real hardware: internals, vessels, primary circuits, heat exchangers, control rod drives or reactor instrumentation.

Talk to us once instead of applying one by one. In a confidential conversation we tell you who the teams are, what each is building, and which one fits your skills and ambitions.

Roles are in several countries, including the Nordics and the Netherlands. Teams work together on site, so a move comes with the job, and for many engineers that is part of the appeal. A period of commuting can often be arranged.

Salaries are competitive. Some companies offer equity or stock options.

You will likely have:

A degree in mechanical, nuclear, process or I&C engineering

3+ years designing reactor components or systems (PWR, BWR, SMR or advanced)

Working knowledge of ASME III, RCC-M, KTA or similar

3D CAD in a structured design process

More interest in hardware than in core physics

European candidates preferred. Work permit support for the right person.
