Research & Development, Pfizer is responsible for the clinical development and advancement of Pfizer’s pipeline of innovative medicines and vaccines. These breakthroughs would not be possible without the thousands of investigator sites and volunteers who participate in our clinical trials each year.

To meet these ambitious goals, the Strategic Site Partnership Lead is focused on fostering trusted and enduring partnerships with strategic sites and organizations, in support of patient centricity and diversity with efficiency and quality in our clinical trials globally. 

 

The Regional Strategic Site Partnerships Lead is a critical member of the GSSO Strategic Partnerships team and is responsible for identifying, building and nurturing business to business relationships with research sites. The Regional Strategic Site Partnerships Lead will provide a customizable partner model at prioritized clinical sites & site organizations at the C-suite/governance level to nurture and facilitate cross functional alignment to enable portfolio execution.  

  

Reporting to the Strategic Site Partnerships Lead, the Regional Strategic Site Partnerships Lead will work in close collaboration with the SSPL to support the implementation of the site partnership strategy within their assigned therapeutic area(s) / Region, ensuring alignment with global objectives and providing operational guidance to enable successful execution.


Key responsibilities include: 

  • Identify clinical research sites and organizations (dependent of therapeutic area need) that consistently deliver key performance metrics for assigned therapeutic area 
  • Develop partnerships that focus on long-term growth by combining each organization's unique strengths and resources to accelerate development and provide greater value to customers 
  • Offer a customizable, mutually beneficial model by acting as the enterprise point of contact with the Strategic Site Partner 
  • Provide operational excellence focused on information transparency, tailored support, and senior leader access 
  • Partner on new innovations and capabilities 
  • Establish stronger quality guardrails together 
  • In partnership with GSSO, reduce time for startup tasks & activities 
  • Lead discussions and engage regularly with C-suite contacts at sites to strengthen the relationship and identify new opportunities 
  • Establish and maintain productive professional relationships with key decision makers both internally and externally to achieve mutual benefit 
  • Build an excellent reputation for service; develop efficient and effective strategies to respond to concerns that may affect the enterprise level relationship and work closely with colleagues to ensure high customer satisfaction ratings and prompt problem resolution and issue mitigation through partnership with CD&O colleagues 
  • Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for strategic partners and site networks to assess performance and drive operational excellence; assess site performance on a yearly basis to determine go forward path 

Qualifications & Skills:


  • A medical or scientific or technical degree in the healthcare field required. In general, candidates for this job would hold a BS/BSc/MS/MSc or equivalent.
  • Sufficient Therapeutic Area knowledge to allow for meaningful HCP discussions.
  • 12+ years broad based experience of drug development, clinical trial conduct, global clinical trial operations, working knowledge of GCP and a thorough understanding of Pfizer processes and standards, with a growth that has been towards senior leadership positions.
  • Must be fluent in English. Local language capabilities are an advantage in this role.
  • Demonstrated strong executive relationship building and influence and experience working with the C-suite within the healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of managing business to business relationships with healthcare systems and establishing, negotiating and managing complex strategic contracts required.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated result orientation, tenacity, and follow- through.
  • Ability to systematically evaluate and prioritize multiple business opportunities within a TA and has strong business acumen.
  • The ability to be successful in a matrixed environment with a high degree of flexibility; collaborate well across functions of CD&O and specifically Country and Site Operations.
  • High degree of influencing skills.
  • Must have a proven track record of being effective at self-management and driving results.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer and business partner relationships.
  • Ability to deal with high levels of ambiguity and proven ability to work in a fast paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Data-driven leader with experience leveraging metrics, KPI’s, and analytics to create accountability structures that drive success of the organization.

Work Location Assignment: Remote - Field Based

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
