Role Overview: This registered nurse (RN) position involves providing specialized patient care in a progressive care unit for adult heart and lung transplant patients and cardiac surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver relationship-based nursing care, including physiologic monitoring, patient education, and discharge planning.
Manage complex equipment such as temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and central lines.
Monitor patients' ECG rhythms, vital signs, and other vital parameters; detect and respond to arrhythmias.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to promote patient safety, independence, and emotional support.
Support professional development, teamwork, shared governance, and evidence-based practice.
Support new graduate nurses through the Nurse Residency Program and assist in exploring career development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Minimum of one year RN experience.
Excellent communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
Proficiency in electronic medical records and computer skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Current RN licensure, BLS certification, and any required state or specialty certifications.
