Role Overview: This registered nurse (RN) position involves providing specialized patient care in a progressive care unit for adult heart and lung transplant patients and cardiac surgical cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver relationship-based nursing care, including physiologic monitoring, patient education, and discharge planning.
  • Manage complex equipment such as temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, and central lines.
  • Monitor patients' ECG rhythms, vital signs, and other vital parameters; detect and respond to arrhythmias.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to promote patient safety, independence, and emotional support.
  • Support professional development, teamwork, shared governance, and evidence-based practice.
  • Support new graduate nurses through the Nurse Residency Program and assist in exploring career development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum of one year RN experience.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Current RN licensure, BLS certification, and any required state or specialty certifications.
