Research Engineer

I’m hiring a Founding Research Engineer for a seed-stage startup building AI co-pilots on smart glasses.

You’ll own the AI core: vision-language models, visual reasoning, agents, evals and model orchestration, all running on real hardware in real customer workflows like inspection and field service. The focus is visual AI first: detection, segmentation, and reasoning over images and video.

If you have:

• 1 to 5 years in applied AI/ML, ideally computer vision or multimodal
• Computer Vision or VLM systems you’ve shipped to production, where you owned the model layer end to end
• Experience getting VLMs to reason reliably about images and video in production
• Hands-on agent and model orchestration work, plus solid evals (ground truth, regression, trajectory testing)
• Startup experience, ideally as a founder or founding engineer

Nice to have: edge or on-device inference, self-hosted open-weight models (vLLM, fine-tuning, quantization), RAG, AR/wearables or autonomous driving CV, industrial exposure.

Up to $240,000 base. Offers Equity
