The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own applied machine learning research from initial hypothesis through training, evaluation and deployment. Work on post-training and learning methods for language and multimodal models, and help set research priorities as an early team member.

What you'll do

- Run experiments and train large AI models, carrying ideas from hypothesis through data preparation, training, evaluation and deployment.

- Post-train language and multimodal models using reinforcement learning and continual learning techniques.

- Work with large behavioral and screen-based datasets to build models that learn individual usage patterns.

- Design and carry out rigorous experiments to strengthen the core models behind autonomous agents.

- Help shape research priorities and technical architecture as an early member of the team.

What we're looking for

- A record of running experiments and improving model performance, beyond publishing papers.

- Hands-on research experience with large language models, especially post-training or reinforcement learning.

- Practical background in applied research or research engineering, shown through end-to-end system work or large experimental programs.

- Familiarity with advanced modeling approaches, such as learned representations or pre-training for visual models.

- Current PhD students are welcome if their research focuses on reinforcement learning, post-training or language models.

- Candidates with a Bachelors or Masters degree are considered when they bring a strong research background from an AI lab.

- Comfort working in Python and PyTorch.

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 300,000 to 600,000 per year
