Job Description
The Research Scientist role at IBM focuses on advancing quantum computing technologies through innovative device characterization and physics. The successful candidate will join a team of experimentalists dedicated to developing scalable fault-tolerant quantum computation. This position emphasizes the design of methodologies for tuning and characterizing devices intended for cryogenic environments. The candidate will also be responsible for disseminating research findings through patents and publications.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- Proven record of research accomplishment in device characterization.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or equivalent.
- Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in device physics and characterization.
Responsibilities
- Design schemes to scale tuning throughput on various devices.
- Devise novel characterization methodologies for large-scale quantum processors.
- Disseminate research results through impactful patents and publications.
- Represent IBM in professional and academic meetings and societies.
