This is a combined posting for a Respiratory Care Practitioner and Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for helping to maintain or restore maximum functioning of the patient's cardiopulmonary system in accordance with physician orders and/or departmental protocols. Required to exercise initiative in developing ideas or in responding to or adjusting problem situations. Typically reports to the supervisor who evaluates ideas. Work processes and assignments for patients of all ages frequently require the incumbent to interpret and apply operating procedures, technical standards, and/or protocols to problems of varying degrees of complexity. This position shares supervision as "charge". Supervision is usually of approximately three employees.

The Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner provides direct patient care by utilizing appropriate knowledge and skills in collaboration with other members of the health care team, providing skilled, creative, discipline-specific therapeutic services to cardiopulmonary patients. The Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner will work collaboratively utilizing current best practice to manage the patient care within a multidisciplinary team, to create the best possible outcome for our patients. The therapist may supervise volunteers, students, or other supportive personnel.

Respiratory Care Practitioner

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an AMA-approved school for Respiratory Care
Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire
National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
Sleep Disorders Specialty - National Board for Respiratory Care within 2 years of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in the field of Sleep Study Technology

Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner

Required Qualifications:

Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire

3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist or Respiratory Care Practitioner
