Portfolio Monitoring & Restructuring work, rebuilt AI-first
At most investment firms, connecting decision-makers with data is where the hardest calls get made: marking a position, testing a covenant, deciding a credit is turning, running a workout. The tools there are also the worst. It runs on spreadsheets, email chains and one senior person's memory. We're rebuilding it with AI, and we want people who have done this work to lead it.
About us
We're an AI-first builder inside Chicago Atlantic, a $3B AUM private credit and equity firm. We build AI systems that give family offices and mid-sized investment firms analytics that only the largest institutions could afford until now. That covers valuations, portfolio monitoring, restructuring analysis, distressed debt workouts and risk analytics. Our core workflows are live with clients today. We're a boutique team (under 200 people) that moves like a startup. We ship in weeks, not quarters.

Some examples of what you'll work on
- A family office with positions across 15 managers wants one view of look-through exposure, concentration and early warning signs, refreshed monthly without a team of analysts.
- A private credit book of 50+ loans needs monthly covenant testing, flags and a monitoring memo. The AI builds it, and you decide whether the red flags are real.
- A stressed borrower needs a 13-week cash flow, liquidity runway and recovery scenarios. You define how the AI should build them and where it must stop and ask.
- Quarterly marks need valuation support that stands up to an auditor and an investment committee.
What you'll do
- Build the Athens office. Be one of the first people on the ground and help shape the team, the culture and how we grow in Europe.
- Own the client relationship. Sit with CIOs, portfolio managers and operations leads at family offices and funds. Understand how their process really runs, manage expectations and be the person they trust with their portfolio.
- Turn processes into product. Map a workflow into a buildable spec: steps, inputs, outputs, rules, edge cases and what "done" looks like. Then turn each delivery into a reusable playbook, so the second client takes half the time of the first.
- Find value and risk. Use AI to mine credits, equities and portfolio data for mispricing, deterioration and early distress that no human team has time to look for. Then apply a restructuring analyst's judgment to whether the signal holds up.
- Ship with engineers. Be the finance expert on the delivery team. Brief the AI engineers, review what they build and push back when the finance is wrong. The product manager owns the technical design, and you own getting the finance right.
- Set the quality bar. Review AI output the way a senior partner reviews a model. Build test cases, find where it breaks and don't let it through until it's right.
Who you are
You have 3 to 8 years in one or more of these:
- Restructuring, turnaround, special situations or corporate finance at a Big 4 or advisory firm
- Debt workouts, NPL servicing or loan restructuring at a servicer, bank or workout firm.
- Valuation, credit research or equity research
- Investment analysis or portfolio monitoring at a fund, asset manager or family office
- Transaction services or financial due diligence
You also have:
- Valuation judgment. You can look at a company or a position and form a view on what it's worth, what could break and what it would take to fix it.
- You've run a recurring finance process end to end and know exactly where it fails or what input is needed from whom.
- Stakeholder Management. You can handle a demanding client, a skeptical CIO and a busy engineer in the same afternoon.
- A builder's bent. You're already using AI in your work, you think in systems, and you'd rather build the tool than keep doing the task by hand.
- Flexibility. You're comfortable with some overlap with US hours (and Singapore), and with travel to the US when needed.
Nice to have
- 13-week cash flows, liquidity analysis, lender reporting, covenant reviews, recovery analysis or distressed M&A
- CFA, ACCA, CIMA or a valuation credential (passed or in progress)
- Hands-on sophisticated use of AI tools including building skills, plugins or entire workflows.
Why this, rather than staying where you are
- Same craft, far more leverage. You keep the restructuring and valuation judgment you've built and apply it across whole portfolios instead of one engagement at a time.
- Your work ships. What you scope is live with clients within weeks, not buried in a report.
- A new career path. Finance expertise combined with AI product skills is rare, and you'll be early to it.
- Build from zero. Move to Athens and help build a European office rather than inherit someone else's.
- Competitive compensation
