Business Unit BAMG - Wilson Management Level Management Job Category Legal, Compliance & Audit Position Summary Leads and coordinates all safety and health related activities for the Wilson, NC facility. Develops and implements a comprehensive safety management system including providing leadership and support for the line driven behavior based safety process. Continuously monitors safety systems for improvement opportunities. Leads and directs Safety team. Employee/Labor Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the wellbeing of employees including: • Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace. • Identifying potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions • Investigating accidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. • Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to employee health and safety. • Maintaining and analyzing records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies. Responsibilities • Manages experienced professionals who exercise independent discretion and/or manages a functional area or process that may or may not have direct reports. • Implements policy and strategy for short-term results and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures • Decision making is guided by strategic objectives of specialization • Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures • Must be able to communicates with executive leadership • Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's degree; 6 y+ years of relevant experience including 3-5 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience Or Master's degree; 4+ years of relevant experience including 2-4 years management or direct/indirect leadership experience * Relocation Assistance provided with Full Benefits package At Bridgestone, you are Free to Be We believe people can only provide superior service and quality to others when they bring their whole self to work.
