A Day in the Life As a Health Scientist, Project Manager - Toxicology and Exposure Science , you’ll be responsible for day-to-day management of technical projects in the area(s) of toxicology, risk assessment, industrial hygiene, and exposure assessment. The successful applicant will be a well-organized self-starter with 4-7 years of experience in a scientific consulting discipline with the ability to take projects from initiation to completion under the guidance of senior technical staff. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in the team. While the majority of day-to-day life will be completed in-office, opportunities to play a role in field sampling events may arise. The compensation range for this role is $95,000 to $120,000 in addition to eligibility for annual bonus (up to 12%) based on personal, department, and company performance. The compensation range is commensurate with experience, skillset, and geographic location. Relocation may be available for the selected candidate. This position will be located in our Little Rock, Arkansas office (company Headquarters). To thrive in this role, you’ll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities: Manage the full life-cycle of technical projects within the Health Sciences division, including those in the risk assessment, exposure assessment, and legal industries. Learn to act as an intermediary between senior technical experts and clients with responsibility for project completion, on-time, on-budget, and with technical accuracy. Opportunity to work on, lead, and manage projects critical to the Health Sciences team and provide input into broader business strategy for the division. Learn to develop and drive business growth through technical excellence, growth of client relationships, and scientific visibility. Ability to travel up to 15% Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management Academic degree in Biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology or other related science 4 – 7 years of related experience in scientific consulting Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a matrix reporting structure Work Environment and Physical Requirements The physical and environmental requirements below reflect what’s typically needed to perform the essential functions of this role safely and effectively. Keyboarding and typing Ability to read effectively from a computer screen, sampling device and/or paper copy Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; Long hours involving overtime and weekends, as necessary Sitting, standing, and walking If desired , employee may participate in Emergency Response or Field Sampling, which in that case would bring in the below components. Lifting up to 50 pounds several times a day Overhead lifting of over 20 pounds Bending, stooping, climbing ladders and crawling Frequent, unscheduled travel for several periods of time Ability to drive non-commercial vehicles Rarely may work shifts of up to 24 hours in duration Dress out in physically demanding personal protective equipment (PPE) for site entry at HAZWOPER sites as required under 29 CFR 1910.120 Wear half-face and full-face air purifying respirators (APR) as required.
