We are partnering with a well-established, nearly 40-year-old company in the garden and horticulture industry that is looking for an experienced Sales Director to lead its national sales organization.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who has successfully led sales teams, developed growth strategies, and expanded accounts and product categories. The Sales Director will oversee a national team of approximately 12 sales professionals, including RSMs and outside sales reps, while playing a major role in shaping the company's overall sales strategy.

The company has an established national customer base and product portfolio with significant opportunity for continued growth. This person will have the ability to make a meaningful impact on the direction and performance of the sales organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a national sales team of approximately 12, including RSMs and outside sales reps
• Develop and execute sales strategies focused on revenue, account, territory, and category growth
• Establish goals and hold the sales organization accountable to performance expectations
• Coach and support sales leaders and reps to strengthen performance across territories
• Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and develop new business
• Help shape the company's broader sales strategy alongside executive leadership
• Evaluate territories, customer opportunities, product categories, and sales performance to identify areas for growth
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners
• Partner with marketing and other areas of the business as needed to support sales initiatives
• Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows as needed
• Travel as needed to effectively lead the sales organization and support customers

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a Sales Director, VP of Sales, Regional Sales Director, National Sales Manager, or similar sales leadership role
• Strong track record of leading and developing sales teams
• Experience developing and executing sales strategies that drive measurable growth
• Background managing multiple territories, regions, or a national sales organization
• Experience with wholesale, distribution, consumer products, garden/horticulture, lawn & garden, nursery/greenhouse, home improvement, or a related industry
• Experience managing RSMs, territory sales professionals, and/or outside sales reps strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of account development, territory growth, forecasting, and sales performance
• Comfortable working closely with executive leadership and taking ownership of the sales organization
• Willingness to travel as needed

This position is based in Athens, GA, and candidates must be willing to relocate to the area. The role offers estimated annual income up to $350K, depending on experience and overall fit, along with full benefits.
