Security Lead

About the Role

As the first dedicated security hire at a growing data infrastructure and analytics company, you will build and own the hands-on security program. You will partner with engineering and leadership to protect sensitive enterprise data across cloud infrastructure, products, pipelines, and internal operations.

What You'll Do

• Build and own the company-wide security program across cloud infrastructure, application security, data governance, and employee security.

• Design and implement access controls, just-in-time permissions, and data governance policies for sensitive customer data.

• Lead the SOC 2 certification process and ongoing compliance work with an existing vendor.

• Threat-model product features, data pipelines, and AI workflows, then implement technical controls for the most consequential risks.

• Create secure defaults and tools that help engineering teams move quickly while reducing security risks.

• Write code, review system architecture, and make practical security decisions alongside engineers.

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in security engineering or software engineering.

• Hands-on experience with cloud security, application security, identity and authorization, multi-tenant systems, secrets management, and data governance.

• Experience with AWS, SOC 2, IAM, AI/ML security, data pipelines, SIEM, and infrastructure as code.

• Engineering experience beyond compliance or policy work, ideally at an early-stage company or in a high-bar security environment.

• Background protecting sensitive customer data, with a track record of sustained ownership and delivery.

• A STEM degree and strong technical fundamentals.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $210,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
