About the Role

We're hiring a Senior AI/ML Engineer to own the AI systems layer behind an early-stage B2B process intelligence platform. You'll turn messy enterprise data into structured, reliable process intelligence, and your work will sit at the core of the product. This role is for someone who cares deeply about making AI behavior measurable, safe, and genuinely useful in production.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain production AI pipelines covering retrieval, context construction, model and provider selection, structured extraction, and orchestration.

  • Build and iterate on evaluation frameworks including golden datasets, LLM-as-judge pipelines, regression tests, and launch gates.

  • Implement guardrails, hallucination-reduction strategies, constraint enforcement, and fallback paths to keep production behavior reliable.

  • Reason end-to-end about pipelines, from raw customer data through to generated outputs and user-facing product behavior.

  • Develop retrieval and knowledge systems using embeddings, hybrid search, chunking, ranking, and reranking over enterprise knowledge sources.

  • Build agentic, multi-step workflows that stay reliable even when plans, tools, or intermediate outputs fail.

  • Collaborate directly with customers to gather feedback and iterate on AI features.

What We're Looking For

  • 4 or more years of experience in applied AI, ML engineering, or production software engineering.

  • Proven track record shipping AI/ML systems in production with sustained end-to-end ownership, not just internal tooling.

  • Hands-on experience with hosted LLM APIs (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini) including structured outputs, tool use, and multi-step workflows.

  • Experience building evals, benchmarks, or CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML systems.

  • Strong background in RAG, retrieval, or agent orchestration systems.

  • Proficiency in Python, including async patterns and integration with AI/ML tooling; familiarity with a typed language such as Go, C++, Java, or Scala is a plus.

  • Comfort working directly with customers and iterating on features based on real feedback.

  • Strong CS fundamentals from a rigorous academic or professional background.

  • Startup affinity or founding engineer experience, with the ability to handle ambiguity and manage technical debt intentionally.

  • Experience with multimodal inputs (documents, screenshots, video, transcripts) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with process mining or enterprise workflow tooling is a bonus.
