Atlas Search is partnering with a top-tier global alternative investment manager to hire a Senior Associate for its finance organization, focused on compensation and management company economics. This is a high-visibility seat: the team delivers bespoke analysis directly to senior leadership and informs how the firm evaluates compensation and business decisions. The role also carries a mandate to expand the team's analytical capabilities, including its use of generative AI and automation.
Location: NYC (3 days/onsite)
Compensation: $190,000 to $230,000
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with senior leadership on high-priority, bespoke analyses covering compensation, management company economics, and other commercial and strategic questions
- Frame loosely defined problems, structure the analytical approach, and translate results into clear, decision-useful conclusions
- Work through incomplete or imperfect data, defining scope and exercising sound commercial judgment along the way
- Synthesize complex findings into concise, leadership-ready presentations
- Identify gaps in the team's coverage and build out capabilities to meet emerging leadership needs
- Lead team initiatives in generative AI integration, process improvement, technology adoption, and automation
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in investment compensation finance or accounting, management company finance, or internal strategy at a large alternative asset manager
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or a related field, with a strong academic record
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision-makers by reframing analyses and bringing new perspective to complex problems
- Track record of producing rigorous analysis in ambiguous situations with imperfect data
- Exceptional executive communication skills, written and verbal
Preferred
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Finance, or similar)
- Familiarity with incentive, deferred, or carried-interest compensation structures at alternative investment firms
- Compensation consulting experience serving asset managers, particularly combined with in-house experience
- Hands-on experience applying generative AI, automation, or new technology to finance workflows
- Experience building or scaling a team's analytical capabilities
The Environment
A global alternative investment firm known for analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and collaboration across disciplines and strategies. This role is based on-site in New York, NY. Visa sponsorship is available.
