About The Job

We are looking for a full-time broker for the Asian biofuel market to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating and optimising transactions among a diverse portfolio of clients.

It will require a deep understanding of the complex biofuel landscape, the ability to identify opportunities, negotiate transactions, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Tasks And Responsibilities

• Commercial Mind: Strong business sense with a solid understanding of commercial principles, market dynamics, and strategic thinking, with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and make data-informed decisions that drive business growth.
• Origination and sourcing skills: Familiarity with Asian business culture, including regional nuances in communication, negotiation, and relationship-building. Proven experience working in or with Asian markets is a strong plus.
• Client Engagement: Establishing and nurturing client relationships while thoroughly understanding their requirements within the biofuel supply chain. Offering optionality and up-to-date market insights to clients, with a deep understanding of the variables that impact their domestic market, but also the international arbitrage opportunities that we map out in collaboration with the other desks within OLYX.
• Market Analysis: Keeping informed about the latest developments in the Asian and European biofuel market, including regulatory changes, pricing trends, and project development opportunities.
  
  

Job Requirements

About you

• Fluent in English; additional Asian languages are a strong advantage (Chinese, Malaysian, Indonesian)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics, finance, environmental science, engineering, supply chain management or a related field.
• 1-6 years of commercial experience; knowledge of the biofuel industry is a plus.
• Self-starter, stress-resilient, with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Comfortable navigating complex and fast-moving markets.
• Commercially driven. You know how to close a deal.
• Based in the Netherlands, or willing to relocate. We offer visa sponsorship for this role.
