The Role
Are you passionate about regional community development and have what it takes to lead and coordinate the Community Engagement & Development Team?
Can you build strong and positive stakeholder relationships while effectively evaluating the impacts of projects and community campaigns?
The Town of Port Hedland is seeking an experienced and professional leader to guide a diverse, multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering community engagement and development initiatives. This team's work spans stakeholder engagement and consultation, diversity and inclusion, multicultural affairs, community engagement, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community relationships, community wellbeing programs, and the administration of community grants.
In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of innovative strategies that strengthen connections across all sectors of our community, ensuring alignment with the Town's strategic priorities, including the Community Development Plan and the Access and Inclusion Plan. You will foster collaborative partnerships, support staff to respond to emerging challenges, and champion a collective impact approach to create meaningful, inclusive outcomes for the people of Hedland.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Relevant Bachelor's Qualification in community development, social sciences, communications, or another relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in community engagement or development in a major company or government
- Strong experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating projects, events or community campaigns
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class driver's license
- Rights to work in Australia
