Job Description
The Senior Data Access Protection Engineering Specialist will join the Data Access Protection Squad within the Cyber Security Engineering team at Morgan Stanley. This role focuses on overseeing global platform infrastructure and delivering advanced technical solutions with an emphasis on DevOps, data analytics, and data access protection. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations while contributing to the evolution of data protection capabilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering and a strong understanding of data protection technologies.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Experience with data protection technologies, such as Varonis Platform Architecture and Active Directory.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and tools such as AWS Security Hub and Microsoft Azure Security Center.
- Exposure to data analytics tools and techniques, including SQL and Splunk.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Kanban, and Scrum practices.
- Experience in Python frameworks and PowerShell script development.
- Understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
Responsibilities
- Design and contribute to the implementation of enterprise Data Asset Protection platforms.
- Translate regulatory, audit, and risk requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering.
- Contribute to the architecture and evolution of data protection capabilities.
- Apply and adhere to established engineering and DevSecOps standards.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions for complex initiatives.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain Python and PowerShell based services.
- Implement control monitoring, audit telemetry, and evidence generation.
- Use analytics, metrics, and dashboards to identify trends and improve data access controls.
- Contribute to a collaborative engineering culture by sharing knowledge and improving code quality.
