We are looking for an experienced Senior Digital Design Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of the design and development of high-speed digital systems for advanced RF and microwave applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in FPGA-based digital design, digital signal processing, VHDL/Verilog, and high-speed digital architectures, with the ability to translate system-level requirements into robust and reliable digital solutions.
We are seeking a self-driven engineer who can take technical ownership, collaborate across disciplines, anticipate challenges throughout the product development lifecycle, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in a dynamic and high-technology environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Digital Design Engineer within the EDGE Microwave engineering team, you will be responsible for the specification, architecture, design, analysis, implementation, integration, and verification of digital signal processing and control blocks for end-to-end RF and microwave systems.
This position requires proven technical expertise in FPGA architectures, digital design methodologies, VHDL/Verilog synthesis and implementation, and digital signal processing algorithms, as well as the ability to work closely with system, RF, analog, and algorithm engineers.
You will be expected to design and develop complex high-speed digital systems, participate in system integration and performance verification activities, anticipate technical challenges, and proactively develop effective solutions when required.
- Design, implement, synthesize, integrate, test, and document FPGA-based digital design blocks in accordance with defined engineering methodologies and reliability objectives,
- Develop and implement digital signal processing algorithms and associated control logic using VHDL and/or Verilog,
- Contribute to the definition and analysis of system-level requirements, architectural limitations, and engineering constraints, and translate them into feasible digital design solutions,
- Collaborate closely with system architects, RF engineers, software engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and ensure seamless subsystem integration,
- Analyze and characterize digital system architectures, evaluate design alternatives, and support architectural decisions based on performance, complexity, power, size, weight, cost, and reliability constraints,
- Develop analytical and mathematical models, simulations, and prototypes for digital signal processing and control blocks to validate design concepts and system performance,
- Participate in hardware/software and subsystem integration activities, troubleshoot design issues, and support system-level verification and performance validation,
- Anticipate technical risks and potential integration issues throughout the product development lifecycle and proactively propose effective solutions,
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, test procedures, and verification result in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards,
- Communicate complex technical concepts, design decisions, risks, and trade-offs clearly to technical and management teams,
- Identify opportunities for design optimization, technological improvement, innovation, and cost reduction, and contribute to the development of effective solutions and prototypes.
The Ideal Fit:
- BS/MS degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field, with a focus on digital design, signal processing, or communication systems,
- 5+ years of professional experience in digital design, preferably in FPGA-based high-speed digital systems,
- In-depth understanding of digital signal processing methodologies, analytical/mathematical modelling, and related technologies,
- Strong hands-on expertise in VHDL and/or Verilog Hardware Description Languages, including synthesis and implementation,
- Experience with FPGA architectures, digital design methodologies, and high-speed digital systems,
- Experience in mixed-signal design, data converters, and sampling systems,
- Conceptual understanding of RF, analog, and mixed-signal designs and their operational principles,
- Familiarity with digital and analog modulation schemes, active RF/microwave components, and link budget concepts,
- Familiarity with high-frequency circuits and RF/microwave system architectures,
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx SoC and FPGA platforms is a strong advantage,
- Experience in avionics, space, or other high-reliability technology projects is a strong advantage,
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills,
- Ability to take initiative, assume technical ownership, and work independently when required,
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment,
- Ability to adapt to technological advancements and work effectively within agile and evolving development workflows,
- Good command of written and verbal English.
