Senior Eddy Current Analyst

Echo NDE is seeking a Senior Eddy Current Analyst to support upcoming projects. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise in ECT data analysis and interpretation while working alongside experienced inspection teams and supporting the delivery of accurate, high-quality results for our clients.

Position Details:

• Start Date: Immediate
• Location: Fort Saskatchewan, AB; with occasional travel to field sites
• Travel: Flights provided for out-of-town candidates relocating to the area
• Hours: 40 hours/week + On-call as needed
• Relocation: Up to 3 months of temporary company housing and LOA available to support your transition.

Responsibilities

ECT Analysis & Technical Leadership

• Lead the review, analysis, and interpretation of complex Eddy Current inspection data in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Utilize Periscope and applicable analysis software to evaluate complex ECT signals, identify relevant indications, and make technically sound assessments.
• Apply advanced knowledge of ECT methods, techniques, and acceptance criteria to characterize and evaluate potential defects.
• Perform detailed quality reviews of inspection data, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and determine when additional examination or data collection is required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Eddy Current Technicians, Analysts, and project personnel.
• Support troubleshooting of complex technical issues and provide recommendations to improve data acquisition and analysis.
• Contribute to the development, refinement, and continuous improvement of ECT procedures, techniques, and analysis processes.

Reporting, Quality & Client Support

• Prepare, review, and approve accurate inspection reports, data summaries, and technical documentation.
• Clearly communicate technical findings, assessments, and recommendations to field teams, project leadership, and clients.
• Collaborate with field and project teams to resolve technical concerns and ensure inspection requirements are understood and met.
• Provide technical input during project planning, execution, and closeout, helping ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain oversight of inspection data, analysis results, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.
• Ensure all analysis activities meet company, client, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of client data and inspection records.
• Promote and adhere to company and client safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Requirements

Technical Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Eddy Current Testing (ECT), NDE, or a related industrial inspection environment.
• CGSB Eddy Current Testing (ET2) certification or equivalent recognized qualification is required.
• Proven experience analyzing and interpreting complex Eddy Current inspection data and making technical assessments in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong technical knowledge of ECT principles, techniques, equipment, data acquisition, and analysis methods.
• Proficiency with Periscope and other ECT data acquisition and analysis software is required.
• Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, and validating detailed inspection reports and technical documentation.
• Experience providing technical guidance, mentorship, or support to ECT technicians and other inspection personnel is an asset.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technicians, supervisors, project teams, and clients.
• Willingness to travel throughout Alberta to support turnaround and inspection projects.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and varying schedules based on project requirements.
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
