Why This Role Matters

MissionHires is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for a Senior Technical Program Manager on behalf of a company developing consumer electronics and smart home IoT products. This role will lead end-to-end product development programs, coordinating hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and certification activities from concept through production readiness. The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency in PCBAs, embedded systems, wireless connectivity, and smart home ecosystems, along with a proven ability to drive complex cross-functional programs to completion.


How You'll Contribute

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for consumer electronics and smart home IoT products.
  • Drive alignment and execution across hardware, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and cross-functional program teams.
  • Develop and manage program schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Lead cross-functional design and program reviews through all development gates.
  • Review and interpret PCBA schematics, layouts, and electrical design considerations, including signal integrity, power, and EMI/EMC.
  • Partner with engineering teams on board bring-up, debugging, technical trade-offs, and issue resolution.
  • Apply knowledge of Gerber files, PCB fabrication, and DFM/DFA principles to influence product design and manufacturing decisions.
  • Drive prototype, engineering validation, production validation, and production builds through production readiness.
  • Support cost optimization initiatives while maintaining product quality, performance, and schedule objectives.
  • Ensure seamless integration and certification across Alexa, Google Home, Apple Home, Matter, Wi-Fi, and BLE ecosystems.
  • Coordinate regulatory compliance activities, including FCC, CE, and UL requirements.
  • Communicate program status, risks, decisions, milestones, and key performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate effectively with global engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver results with urgency.


What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer electronics and smart home IoT product development.
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience leading cross-functional product development teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of PCBAs, including the ability to read and interpret layouts and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with Gerber file generation and validation, PCB design tools, PCB fabrication, and DFM/DFA practices.
  • Deep knowledge of embedded systems and firmware interactions.
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, Thread, Zigbee, and Matter.
  • Experience with Matter and smart home ecosystem certification.
  • Familiarity with consumer electronics regulatory compliance, including FCC, CE, and UL.
  • Experience leading prototype, engineering, and production builds with global engineering and manufacturing partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical and program information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional collaboration, consensus-building, problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Self-motivated approach, strong initiative, and the ability to identify and correct issues proactively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
