Senior Firmware Engineer

Location: NSW, Australia (Relocation Assistance Available)

Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 + Super + Bonus (DOE)

Brief Intro

An innovative Australian hardware technology company is looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to lead embedded development across its product range. You'll own architecture and technical decision-making for safety-critical embedded systems, working across battery management, motor control and multi-processor Bluetooth-integrated devices.

Key Skills/Experience

Embedded C/C++
RTOS and bare-metal embedded environments.
Microcontrollers & Peripherals (STM32, Cortex-M series etc.)
Python and/or C# for building test tools.
Firmware for lithium battery packs/BMS and motor/ESC controllers.
Experience with multi-processor systems and communication between embedded devices.
Wireless technologies (BLE, Wi-Fi etc.)
Hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
Demonstrated autonomy - able to own embedded systems from architecture through to production release.

Non-essential/Beneficial Skills

Nordic SDK/chip sets (NRF52 etc.)
Safety-critical embedded systems, including fault detection and failure handling.
Experience across electronics, firmware, app and backend integration points.
Experience with production, calibration and diagnostic test functionality.
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
An adventurous, hands-on mindset with a passion for outdoor/consumer hardware products.
