About us

Traditional banking has never really given you control over your financial life. Satispay exists to change that: to empower people through finance. That means making financial services easy and accessible for over 6.5M users. We started with payments, then benefits, investing, cards... and we’re not done. Not even close. We follow the same logic every time: find a real problem, solve it properly, then look for the next one. The destination? To build the most loved financial platform in the world. If you own outcomes rather than tasks, stay close to what users need, and refuse to wait for someone else to fix what's broken — you'll find people here who work exactly in the same way. And together, you'll build something worth being proud of.

What you'll be doing

As our Senior Engineering Manager in the Consumer domain, you'll set the technical and organizational direction for an entire domain, empowering millions of users in how they pay, manage money, and access credit.

Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • Lead and grow the Consumer domain – Own the health and direction of three teams via 3 direct-report Engineering Managers and a Staff Engineer (15–25 engineers total), fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • People management & mentorship – Actively invest in coaching and developing reporting managers, calibrating performance across teams, and identifying stretch opportunities for both managers and engineers.

  • Drive domain strategy & technical execution – Translate product and business goals into a clear, predictable technical roadmap across multiple teams, resolving cross-team dependencies and ensuring reliable execution.

  • Collaborate across domains – Partner closely with Product leadership, Staff/Principal Engineers, and peer Engineering Managers to align on priorities and define overarching engineering standards.

  • Report up and communicate clearly – Keep senior leadership informed on domain progress, risks, and blockers, translating technical complexity into clear, business-relevant terms.

  • Architectural guidance – Facilitate architectural discussions and ensure sound technical decisions are made across PostgreSQL, Java, Spring Boot, AWS infrastructure (EC2/ECS/EKS, S3, AWS Lambda, Kinesis, ElasticSearch) and Datadog.

Who we're looking for

This role needs a servant-leader passionate about building high-performing teams of teams, developing other managers, and taking real ownership at the domain level.

  • Engineering Leadership Experience – 8+ years in backend engineering, with at least 4+ years managing engineers in a fast-paced, product-driven environment, including experience managing other managers.

  • People-First Mindset – Strong empathy and coaching skills, with a proven track record of developing engineers and managers while fostering an inclusive culture.

  • Backend Expertise & Cloud Architecture – Strong command of distributed systems and API design to guide multiple teams in building robust, scalable services in high-growth or regulated environments.

  • Delivery Ownership at Scale – Proven ability to own end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-team initiatives using Agile methodologies and metrics to improve velocity and quality.

  • Clear & Effective Communication – Fluency in English with the ability to engage comfortably with engineers, non-technical stakeholders, and senior leadership.

  • Fintech & Product Passion – Genuine interest in fintech and investment products, with an appreciation for building in a regulated, high-trust environment.

Don't worry if you don't tick every box. We believe in the power of different viewpoints and strengths. Your unique perspective is important as we build something special: if you're passionate and can make a difference, we truly encourage you to apply.
