- Work location: Rotterdam area, the Netherlands – four days in the office and one day from home
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: One year, with the intention of continuing permanently
- Contract: Employment contract
- Language: English; Dutch is an advantage
- Focus: Detailed hull and structural design for technically complex offshore vessels using Cadmatic Hull and AutoCAD 2D
If you have extensive experience with structural design of technically complex offshore vessels and Cadmatic Hull, this position offers responsibility for detailed modelling and construction drawings. In this senior role, you will work independently on assigned design scopes and coordinate technical details with the engineering team. English is the working language, and relocation support is available for candidates moving to the Netherlands.
Where You’ll Work
You will join an engineering team developing designs for vessels and offshore structures. Designers, engineers, and project managers work together to translate engineering requirements into detailed hull models and construction drawings.
Your work will focus on the structural details of these vessels: interpreting engineering input, developing accurate models, and preparing drawings that account for ship construction and fabrication requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Develop detailed 3D hull and structural models in Cadmatic Hull for technically complex offshore vessels.
- Prepare accurate 2D construction drawings in AutoCAD.
- Translate engineering input into structural details that account for fabrication requirements.
- Complete assigned design tasks independently and coordinate technical interfaces with engineers and other designers.
- Check models and drawings against engineering input, internal standards, customer requirements and relevant offshore regulations.
- Act as the software contact point for Cadmatic Hull within the project team.
What You Bring
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cadmatic Hull, with the ability to independently develop detailed models for complex hull and structural design scopes.
- Proven hull and structural design experience on technically complex offshore vessels, such as wind turbine installation vessels.
- At least 10 years of relevant structural design experience; candidates with 15 years or more are preferred.
- A relevant technical qualification in Shipbuilding Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D for construction drawings.
- Practical knowledge of ship structures, structural detailing and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of relevant offshore rules, regulations and technical standards.
- The ability to interpret engineering requirements and coordinate technical details with engineers, designers and project managers.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Experience with Rhinoceros would be useful.
- Dutch language skills would be an advantage.
What’s In It For You?
For Employment Candidates, You Can Expect
- A salary that reflects your experience, knowledge and responsibilities.

- The opportunity to work on technically challenging projects where your expertise has a real impact on the final result.
- An international, English-speaking working environment where you'll collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Networking: life outside work also matters - that's why we enjoy spending time together through sports activities, team outings, our annual company party and other social events throughout the year.
