Senior Manufacturing Engineer

This role is for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer with the technical depth to earn respect on the production floor and the leadership instinct to drive change across a cross-functional engineering environment. • Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team spanning design, fabrication, and applications — bringing structure, direction, and accountability to a team ready to be developed.
• Serve as the primary engineering authority on the production floor, maintaining hands-on visibility into processes, problems, and opportunities.
• Establish clear reporting structures, engineering workflows, and project prioritization to align team output with production goals.
• Identify and develop engineering talent from within, building a team culture grounded in precision, ownership, and continuous improvement.

• Lead design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews on new and existing trailer configurations, ensuring designs are optimized for efficient production and structural integrity.
• Apply applications engineering principles to configure solutions for complex customer requirements, including heavy haul, lowboy, and specialty trailer specifications.
• Own engineering change order (ECO) and variance disposition processes — analyzing, documenting, and communicating with production in real time.
• Develop and maintain fixture design standards, fabrication aids, and tooling specifications that improve throughput and quality at the build station level.

• Identify systemic inefficiencies in engineering and production workflows and design structured improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Act as a change agent — introducing new processes, tools, and standards in a way that brings people along rather than leaving them behind.
• Partner with COO and operations leadership to align engineering capacity with production scheduling and delivery commitments.
• Support ERP and manufacturing systems integration efforts, contributing engineering data structure, BOMs, and workflow logic.
