Senior .NET / C# Microservices Developer

We are partnering with an enterprise client to accelerate their core platform modernisation and microservices architecture. We are seeking a skilled Senior .NET / C# Microservices Developer to represent our organisation and take technical ownership of designing, building, and deploying high-performance enterprise applications.

In this role, you will bridge domain-driven application design and cloud-native backend services within our client’s ecosystem. You will be instrumental in building resilient REST/gRPC APIs, implementing asynchronous messaging architectures, and scaling applications on .NET 8/9, ASP.NET Core, and Azure/AWS.

Core Responsibilities

• Microservices Development: Design, code, test, and maintain high-throughput backend services using C#, .NET 8/9, and ASP.NET Core.
• API & System Architecture: Build secure RESTful and gRPC APIs adhering to domain-driven design (DDD) and Clean Architecture principles.
• Event-Driven Messaging: Implement asynchronous message streaming using Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka.
• Database & ORM Optimisation: Design and optimise relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores using Entity Framework Core or Dapper.
• Containerisation & Cloud Delivery: Containerise services using Docker and integrate into automated CI/CD pipelines targeting cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• Code Quality & Testing: Write comprehensive unit, integration, and contract test suites (xUnit, NUnit, Moq) to ensure enterprise reliability.
  

Selection Criteria

• .NET Mastery: Proven commercial experience delivering production microservices using modern C# and .NET Core / .NET 8+.
• Software Design: Deep understanding of Clean Architecture, SOLID principles, design patterns, and distributed system concepts.
• Data & Messaging: Practical experience with SQL Server/PostgreSQL, EF Core, and message brokers (Service Bus, RabbitMQ, or Kafka).
• Cloud & Containers: Hands-on experience with Docker and deploying services into Azure or AWS.
• Location Requirements: Currently residing in Australia with valid work rights or eligibility for 482 visa sponsorship/transfer.
