Role Summary

Analytical Research & Development (ARD) is seeking a highly motivated digitally minded enablement and implementation lead to accelerate the deployment and adoption of digital technologies, automation solutions, artificial intelligence, and data-driven workflows across the across ARD activities and the development lifecycle. The role will bridge scientific teams, informatics, data engineering, AI strategy, laboratory operations, quality, and external partners to deliver scalable digital capabilities that improve ARD scientific productivity, data accessibility, laboratory efficiency, and decision-making. This role will be a key interface for ARD with our Pharmaceutical Sciences Transformational Technology organization and PSSM partner lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and enablement of ARD digital transformation initiatives aligned with ARD 2030 strategy and Digital Steering Team priorities.
• Identify, prioritize, and deploy automation, and digital solutions that improve scientific productivity and operational efficiency.
• Act as the primary liaison between ARD scientists and enterprise system owners (particularly CDS, ELN, LIMS, SDC and Snowflake), negotiating system designs that satisfy both innovation and compliance.
• Implement and scale digital laboratory solutions including digital documentation and workflow automation platforms in ARD.
• Utilize communication and networking skills to lead change in ARD with outstanding teamwork.
• Partner with scientists, informatics teams, data engineers, quality, regulatory, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into digital capabilities.
• Coordinate with Digital and PharmSci-Transformational Technology on project roadmaps, implementation plans, timelines, resources, dependencies, and success metrics.
• Support development of enterprise data strategies, data integration, knowledge management, FAIR data principles, standardized ontologies, and AI-ready data architectures.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, reduce cycle times, improve data accessibility, and enhance data quality.
• Ensure digital solutions comply with GxP, data integrity, ALCOA+, cybersecurity, validation, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate with technology vendors and internal partners to evaluate, pilot, qualify, and deploy new digital capabilities.
• Develop change management, training, communication, and adoption strategies to maximize business impact.
• Serve as a digital champion and subject matter expert for emerging technologies within ARD.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, responsible AI use, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline with 10+ years of experience
• MS in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline with 5+ years relevant experience.

Experience

• Minimum 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical development, analytical R&D, manufacturing sciences, laboratory informatics, digital transformation, or a related area.
• Experience implementing digital technologies within regulated laboratories or pharmaceutical development environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive organizational change.

Technical Skills

• Familiarity with laboratory informatics systems such as LIMS, ELN, Empower, OpenLab, or related analytical data systems.
• Experience with digital laboratory execution platforms, workflow automation, digital forms, or electronic method execution.
• Exposure to laboratory automation, Smart Lab orchestration, robotics, or Process Analytical Technology environments.
• Understanding of enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake or cloud-based data environments.
• Working knowledge of Generative AI, Copilot-style tools, machine learning, analytics, or scientific knowledge management solutions.
• Ability to apply GxP, computerized system validation, data integrity, and quality expectations to digital solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting analytical development, process development or PAT.
• Experience with BIOVIA OneLab, Veeva, OpenLab, OneFolio, Snowflake, Labware, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience deploying AI, machine learning, knowledge graph, or advanced analytics solutions in scientific workflows.
• Experience leading Lab automation, digital workflow, or enterprise transformation programs.
• Certification or practical experience in Agile, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, design thinking, or equivalent implementation methodologies.

Work Location Assignment: Hybrid

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $124,400.00 to $207,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
