As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a key role in shaping intuitive, powerful, and cohesive experiences for Strata Cloud Manager, Palo Alto Networks' AI-powered platform for unified network security management and operations.
You will work on complex challenges in enterprise cybersecurity, transforming sophisticated security workflows, configurations, data, and AI capabilities into experiences that are clear, efficient, and easy to use.
You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Research, and Design teams to understand customer needs, define solutions, and deliver high-quality experiences from early concepts through production. You will bring strong product thinking, interaction design, visual craft, and systems thinking to solve meaningful customer problems.
As a Senior Product Designer, you will own significant product experiences, contribute to product strategy, and help establish patterns that create consistency across the NetSec ecosystem. You will also help raise the quality of design through collaboration, critique, and mentorship.
Your Impact
- Own end-to-end product design for complex features, workflows, and product areas within Strata Cloud Manager—from discovery and problem definition through interaction design, prototyping, validation, and production.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to understand customer and business needs, define problems, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver thoughtful solutions.
- Translate complex cybersecurity workflows into simple, intuitive, and actionable user experiences for highly technical enterprise customers.
- Drive UX strategy within your product area, helping define experience goals, user journeys, interaction models, and design priorities in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Conduct and incorporate customer research, usability testing, competitive analysis, and other insights to validate concepts and inform product decisions. - Create high-quality interaction and visual designs, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, detailed UI designs, and production-ready specifications.
- Design for complex data and workflows, including configuration, policy management, dashboards, analytics, alerts, security operations, and other enterprise use cases.
- Contribute to AI-powered experiences, exploring how AI, automation, recommendations, and intelligent workflows can help security professionals work more effectively while maintaining transparency and control.
- Contribute to a cohesive product experience across Strata Cloud Manager and the broader NetSec portfolio by applying shared patterns, principles, and design-system components.
- Partner with Design Systems and Engineering to identify reusable patterns and ensure consistent, accessible, and high-quality implementation.
- Facilitate design workshops and collaborative sessions to align teams, explore concepts, map user journeys, and resolve ambiguous problems.
- Use prototypes to communicate and validate ideas, making complex concepts tangible for customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Advocate for the customer by bringing user needs, pain points, and workflows into product discussions and design decisions.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate design effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve usability, adoption, and customer outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with engineers during implementation, ensuring the final product reflects the intended experience and maintaining a high level of design quality through delivery.
- Participate actively in design critiques and reviews, providing thoughtful feedback and helping establish a high bar for product design quality.
- Mentor and support other designers, sharing knowledge around product thinking, interaction design, visual craft, research, and design processes.
Qualifications
What You Should Have
- 3+ years of professional product or UX design experience, with a demonstrated track record of shipping high-quality digital products.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent product design craft, problem-solving, interaction design, visual design, and end-to-end ownership. Your portfolio should clearly communicate your role, process, decisions, and outcomes.
- Experience designing enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, infrastructure, developer tools, networking, IT operations, or other technically complex products.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies, including discovery, research, information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative product development.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems and turn them into clear, actionable design solutions.
- Strong interaction design and visual design skills with an exceptional attention to detail and a high bar for usability and quality.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and workflows into intuitive experiences.
- Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and other designers throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Experience designing complex enterprise workflows, such as configuration, dashboards, data visualization, policy management, analytics, alerts, or operational experiences.
- Familiarity with design systems and reusable design patterns, with the ability to contribute to and extend established systems.
- Experience designing or contributing to AI-powered product experiences, including recommendations, automation, intelligent workflows, conversational interactions, or other emerging AI patterns.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain design decisions and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to facilitate design critiques, workshops, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
- Strong understanding of modern product-development processes, including Agile/iterative development and collaboration with engineering teams.
- Expert proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma and contemporary prototyping workflows.
- Working knowledge of modern web technologies and the ability to partner effectively with front-end engineers.
- Strong business and product curiosity, with an understanding of how customer needs, technology, and business objectives influence product decisions.
- A growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, humility, and willingness to seek and provide candid, constructive feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing cybersecurity, network security, SASE, cloud security, networking, IT operations, or security operations products.
- Experience designing for security administrators, network engineers, IT administrators, or other highly technical users.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise SaaS or cloud platforms.
- Experience designing data-rich and operationally complex interfaces.
- Experience contributing to or scaling enterprise design systems.
- Experience with GenAI, AI-assisted workflows, automation, or intelligent enterprise applications.
- Experience collaborating with distributed or cross-functional design and engineering teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
