Senior Project Manager – Data Centre Construction

The Role
Our Client is a provider of project delivery and construction management services to the data centre sector. Working alongside hyperscale, AI, neocloud & colo developers to deliver mission-critical facilities on time, safely, and to the highest technical standard. Their teams support projects across EMEA, covering the full lifecycle from pre-construction through to energisation and handover.

This is a senior, hands-on role managing delivery of the project, or a major package, from mobilisation through to energisation and handover, ensuring the works are delivered safely, on programme, to budget, and to the exacting quality standards required in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Take senior ownership of project delivery, coordinating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities across all packages
- Act as the senior point of contact between the client, main contractor, and key subcontractors
- Develop and maintain the overall project programme, tracking progress against milestones and driving corrective action where required
- Own project budgets and cost reporting, working closely with the commercial team to protect margin and manage risk
- Review and approve key technical submittals, RFIs, and method statements across all packages
- Oversee site leadership teams, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and Norwegian/EU standards
- Coordinate closely with all discipline leads to ensure interface points are identified and managed effectively
- Chair and attend senior progress and stakeholder meetings, providing clear reporting to executive stakeholders
- Take overall responsibility for site health & safety, ensuring compliance with site-specific HSE plans
- Lead commissioning and energisation planning, working closely with the commissioning management team
- Manage quality control, snagging, and closeout documentation through to practical completion and handover
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager on data centre or other mission-critical construction projects
- Strong technical background across construction disciplines, with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience managing subcontractors and complex interfaces on large-scale construction sites
- Familiarity with Norwegian and/or EU construction standards and delivery methods (or strong equivalent international experience)
- Excellent leadership, programme management, commercial awareness, and stakeholder communication skills
- Relevant qualification (Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical/trade background)
- Willingness to be based on site in Norway for the duration of the project
- English language proficiency essential; Norwegian language skills advantageous but not essential
