The Opportunity

We are looking for a Project Planner to join our Abu Dhabi office and take ownership of scheduling and progress control across several concurrent contract-based projects in the Oil & Gas and Critical Infrastructure sectors. You will work alongside Project Managers, Engineering and Procurement, and interface directly with our EPC clients' planning departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update Level 2 and Level 3 schedules in Primavera P6 and MS Project, in line with contractual milestones and client WBS requirements.
• Build and maintain resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules, critical path analysis and float management.
• Set up progress measurement systems (weight factors, S-curves, earned value) and issue weekly and monthly progress reports to management and clients.
• Monitor actual progress against baseline, identify deviations and slippages early, and propose recovery and mitigation plans.
• Support Project Managers in the preparation of variation orders, extension of time claims and delay analysis, providing the underlying schedule evidence.
• Manage schedule interfaces across multiple simultaneous projects, highlighting resource conflicts and bottlenecks.
• Attend planning and progress meetings with EPC contractors and end clients, and respond to their planning queries and comments.
• Maintain and consolidate the company-wide project portfolio schedule and reporting dashboard.

Requirements

• Degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience as a Project Planner / Scheduler on contract-based projects involving a construction or site execution phase.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and control several projects running simultaneously.
• Advanced working knowledge of Primavera P6 and MS Project — both are mandatory.
• Solid understanding of EPC contract structures, contractual milestones, progress measurement and the link between schedule and payment milestones.
• Experience in delay analysis and in supporting extension of time and variation claims.
• Good command of English, written and spoken (B2 level or above), is a mandatory requirement.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with reporting and dashboard tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and the ability to work under pressure with tight reporting deadlines.
• Availability to travel occasionally to our other offices, to client premises and to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience within an EPC contractor's planning department is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of Italian is considered a plus.
• Experience with end users such as ADNOC, Saudi Aramco or comparable national oil companies, and familiarity with their planning and reporting standards.
• EU citizenship, or another nationality granting visa-free access to the Schengen Area, allowing travel to our Italian headquarters for coordination and technical meetings without visa formalities.
• Planning-related certifications (PMI-SP, AACE PSP) or PMP.
