The Infant Care team develops innovative technologies that support clinicians caring for newborns and mothers in critical care environments worldwide. In this role you will develop clinician-facing software used to monitor, manage, and care for some of healthcare's most vulnerable patients. You will create intuitive user experiences, real-time patient monitoring displays, clinical workflows, and service tools that support caregivers and biomedical technicians every day. Job Description Why This Role Matters NICU clinicians rely on our devices 24 hours a day to monitor patient status, manage therapy settings, and respond to critical events. The software you build will: Display life-critical patient information in real time Support clinical decision-making through intuitive workflows Enable caregivers to efficiently manage device settings and therapy delivery Provide service and diagnostic tools that improve device reliability and uptime Help ensure safe and effective patient care Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking experienced software engineers with strengths in one or more of the following areas: Qt/QML application development C++ software engineering User interface and user experience development Desktop or embedded application development Real-time visualization and monitoring systems Industrial, healthcare, automotive, aerospace, or other high-reliability software systems Medical device experience is preferred but not required. We value strong software engineering fundamentals, collaboration skills, and a passion for building high-quality products that solve meaningful problems. What You'll Build Clinician-facing touchscreen applications Real-time patient monitoring displays Clinical workflows and configuration screens Data visualization and trending applications Diagnostic and service tools for biomedical technicians Connected device user experiences Backend application services supporting device functionality Key Responsibilities Clinical Application Development Design, develop, and maintain clinician-facing applications using Qt/QML and C++. Create intuitive workflows that support clinical users in NICU and Labor & Delivery environments. Develop real-time displays for patient parameters, trends, alarms, and device status. Translate user experience designs into production-quality software. Collaborate with Human Factors, Systems Engineering, Clinical, and Product teams to improve usability and workflow efficiency. Service Application Development Develop service and diagnostic tools used by field engineers and biomedical technicians. Support software upgrade, calibration, diagnostics, logging, and configuration workflows. Build backend application services supporting data management and device functionality. Contribute to device configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting capabilities. Software Quality and Reliability Develop automated tests, unit tests, and verification artifacts. Participate in code reviews and design reviews. Support software verification, validation, and regulatory compliance activities. Investigate and resolve software defects and performance issues. Contribute to application reliability, maintainability, and cybersecurity improvements. Strong proficiency in C++. Experience developing applications using Qt/QML or similar modern UI frameworks. Experience developing user-facing software applications. Experience with software testing, debugging, and code quality practices. Experience working in Linux-based development environments. Familiarity with source control systems such as Git. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Qt Quick and advanced QML development. Experience developing embedded or connected device applications. Experience with real-time visualization, monitoring systems, or complex user workflows. Experience translating Figma or UX designs into production applications. Knowledge of REST APIs and service-based architectures. Experience with MQTT or event-driven communication architectures. Familiarity with database technologies such as SQLite. Experience with automated testing and test automation frameworks. Experience with static analysis tools such as Coverity. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices. Experience working in regulated development environments. Knowledge of IEC 62304, IEC 62366, ISO 14971, or similar standards. Experience with usability engineering and human factors principles.
