Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our team is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a water pipeline contracting project based in the UAE. In this role, you will take ownership of cost management, contract administration, and commercial control across the project lifecycle—from project awards to final account close-out. You'll work closely with the project management, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure commercial viability, accurate cost control, and timely resolution of contractual matters on a large-scale pipeline infrastructure project.

Responsibilities

Cost Estimation & Budgeting

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for water pipeline works.
• Develop and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts.
• Monitor actual costs against budget and report variances to management.

Measurement & Valuations

• Carry out accurate measurement of completed works on-site against approved BOQ/drawings.
• Prepare and submit interim payment applications and valuations to the client.
• Certify subcontractor payment valuations and manage payment cycles.

Claims & Variations

• Prepare, substantiate, and negotiate variation orders and change requests.
• Manage claims for extension of time, loss and expense, and disruption where applicable.
• Maintain robust records to support claims and dispute resolution.

Final Accounts & Reporting

• Prepare and agree on final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
• Produce regular cost reports, forecasts, and commercial status updates for senior management.
• Support internal audits and ensure accurate commercial documentation throughout the project.

Subcontractor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants on commercial matters.
• Coordinate with site engineering and project management teams to align cost control with progress.
• Attend site meetings and provide commercial input on project decisions.
